Turmix LB400 Steam Humidifier. This humidifier is our quietest steam unit and is ideal for use in nurseries, bedrooms and sitting rooms.
The Turmix LB400 works on the principal of steam evaporation, by producing warm steam the correct humidity level is maintained for a healthy living environment.
Please Note: Humidifier Spares - Turmix Filter
To be changed every monthPrice: £7.88 inc VAT This small filter, located underneath the heating chamber, prevents calcium in the water from penetrating directly into the heating chamber. This needs to be rinsed regularly, at least once a week, and we would recommend changing the filter once a month for optimum unit efficiency.
Just fill the water tank up with cold water from the tap and place back into the machine. Switch the machine on - a green light will indicate it’s in operation, then use the adjustment button to set the steam output you require. There are two levels; leave the button out for position 1, which is low level, and press the button in for position 2, which is high level. After a few minutes the machine will start to emit steam into the atmosphere, providing hygienic sterile humidification.
With no moving parts the Turmix LB400 is extremely quiet and ideal for use in the bedroom during the night. There is a safety cutout feature, so that when the tank is empty the humidifier automatically turns itself off.The Turmix is suitable for use in hard water areas. Any minerals in the water are left behind in the water tank, which needs to be descaled periodically (as with a kettle).
The gentle warm steam from the Turmix LB400 is frequently used for inhalation to ease congestion (with eucalyptus or tea tree) or aromatherapy (with lavender or camomile etc. which are calming and soothing). Steam humidifiers also help to alleviate the stidor and coughing associated with respiratory illnesses such as croup. A healthy level of humidity will also help thin mucus so it may be coughed up more easily helping to relieve respiratory symptoms of cystic fibrosis.
To maintain the unit for optimum efficiency, it must be completely emptied every week, and then rinsed with fresh water. Once a week, place a little washing up liquid inside the tank, fill it with hot water, and rinse out well. There is a small filter located underneath the heating chamber, which prevents calcium in the water from penetrating directly into the heating chamber. This needs to be rinsed regularly, at least once a week, and we would recommend changing the filter once a month.
In order to control the level of humidity we strongly recommend this unit is used in conjunction with a Humidistat that simply plugs into a 13amp socket (please ask for details). This will turn the unit off once a preset humidity is reached, regulating the output of the unit and ensuring you do not over-humidify a room.
